We love blogging for money and it's more exciting than Red Sox, Rockies Game one World Series! But when we set out to make money with our blogs we need tools to track our sites progress. Today I'd like to introduce an excellent free tool (there are subscription options as well) that will allow us to track our visitors in real time! That's exciting. The blog tracker is called HitTail. What HitTails does, is record the keywords that your visitors used to find your site. Let me refer you to a great article over at Tech Crunch with the details. Signing up for the free service is easy - just head on over to the HitTail registration page and fill out the form. Once you've successfully completed the registration process, you'll have to copy and paste a piece of JavaScript into your HTML. Don't panic! I'll help you. Log into your Blogger account and head over to the Layout page. From here you're going to click on the Edit HTML option in the menu. This page shows you the HTML and JavaScript that makes your blog chug along on the Internet. In order to track our sites statistics, (so we can maximize the amount of money we will make some day soon.) we'll need to paste that piece of JavaScript into our text window. Scroll all the way to the bottom of your HTML screen and look for the "body" tag. Now simply paste the code you got from HitTail and place it on the line directly above that tag and save your template changes. You can head back to HitTail, log in with your credentials, and start tracking your blog statistics in real time like it's Apple Stock on Wall Street! As Austin Powers would say: "Yeah baby, yeah!"

C'est la semaine dans la revue - occupée à coup sûr. Si vous avez été suivant le long nous avons appris énormément. Mais la chose gentille est que cela n'a pas pris longtemps du tout. Ainsi faisons à travers une promenade rapide, n'est-ce pas ? 1.) Nous avons appris au sujet de Google AdSense et ce qu'il peut faire pour us.2.) Certains d'entre nous s'étaient cachés sous une roche et n'ont pas même su ce qui la limite : Le blog a signifié ! (hé, vous devez commencer quelque part, bien ?)3.) Après, nous avons figuré dehors juste combien facile (et LIBÉREZ !) il était d'installer notre propre blog pour que le monde voie, avec Blogger.4.) Nous avons été excités au propre un morceau de Cyberspace, mais nous avons voulu commencer à gagner l'argent avec AdSense. Heureusement, l'installation de compte était un breeze.5.) Été armée avec un blog mortel de nos propres et d'un compte d'AdSense a la substance dangereuse ! Nous ne pourrions pas simplement entrer dans ceci avec nos yeux étroitement ainsi j'ai décomposé les termes et conditions générales de Google ainsi vous ne tomberiez pas asleep.6.) Après que nous nous soyons sentis confortables avec les politiques du programme de Google, nous avons décidé de mettre AdSense sur nos blogs. Et le garçon était celui facile ! 7.) Enfin et surtout, nous avons voulu une stratégie saine pour présenter nos annonces. Nous n'avons pas voulu qu'elle ressemblât à votre fête d'anniversaire doigt-peinture-orientée quand vous aviez neuf ans - ainsi nous avons suivi le conseil de Google et avons mis nos annonces où les lecteurs peuvent les voir. Félicitations ! Vous êtes sur votre chemin à gagner l'argent avec votre blog. Ce ne va pas être un succès durant la nuit mais coller autour et nous y arriverons. Nous avons beaucoup plus rectifié pour couvrir comme : Optimisation d'AdSense, contenu d'emplacement, trafic, etc. Nous frapperons ceux la semaine prochaine mais pour maintenant moi vous laisserai digérer toute la ceci.

Guest post by Darrell Are you making money online? Is your website on page 1? If not, then its time to learn some insider tips on building your own authority website and ranking it on page 1. I like to think of page 1 of Google like the best prime piece of real estate. It’s all about location and the top 5 inches on your monitor is where you want to be. That is if you truly want to be making money online. In today’s article, I will be outlining the main components to making it all work. That includes keyword analysis, picking your domain name, back linking strategies (the key) , niche marketing ideas, and software tools to leverage your time more efficiently. Since Google is the king of search engines, my main focus is really about how to rank well with them. The methods outlined will still apply to other search engines like Yahoo and Bing. Do You Understand What Google is looking for? First, they want to see the most relevant information on page 1 for their customers, you and me and of course making their paying advertisers happy. That is the essence of any search engine. To provide the best search results back. Second, as a way to rank well, you will have to let G know about your web site, which can be accomplished in hundreds or thousands of different ways, more on that later in the article. But, what are the most effective methods to getting on page 1 and who should you really trust? An authority web site, in my opinion, is when you rank on page 1. It could be big keyword categories or small, less competitive ones. Either way, when you reach page 1, Google and the other’s see your site with authority. Keep in mind, big authority sites will usually include hundreds of articles over time, especially in areas like make money or home based business. Niche sites are much more targeted and usually you will see them have in the range of 1, 5 or 10 articles typically. The reality is, any website can become an authority one with enough work invested in it. Understanding Keyword Research and Knowing Where to Find the Gold This has become a problem for me because I keep seeing too many people making the same mistake over and over again. You see it all the time with newbie internet marketers coming online, looking around and thinking to themselves, “Hey I want to make some money online.” They do some research, find out the make money category is hot, so they start to build their site around this category. Oops, they forget one important fact. Those on page 1 have been there for awhile for a reason. They know what they are doing and are well entrenched. Stop the insanity. Keywords and Niche Marketing 2.0 – The Better Alternative The basis of any mega website is ranking for a lot of terms over the long term. The actual way to accomplish that is by concentrating on your niche marketing areas. By beginning at the lower end of long tail keywords and working your way up to bigger keyword categories, your web site will gain strength. By ranking for multiple long tail keywords, that will give your site authority. That’s the main point you need to keep in mind. Once your site ranks and gains trust with Google, you can look at the bigger keywords to go after. For example, when searching for keywords, I would look at 1000 to 10,000 searches per month with low competition. You will have a much better likelihood of ranking on page 1 and making some cash in a shorter period of time. That will keep you in the internet marketing game for a longer period of time. Making some money in 3 or 6 months makes much more sense. It gives you time to hone your SEO skills and build some confidence. Its the foundation in my opinion of having a stable and strong website. One tip that you should know and keep in mind when looking at the competition, is to see who’s ranking on page 1. Here’s my exact method when determining if a keyword is worthwhile or not. I check the organic search results on page 1 and look for articles ranking on page 1. Why would I do that? Its because, if an article is showing up in the results, it means I stand a better chance of ranking on page 1. I will also be checking for how many back links are pointing to that particular website or web page. More on that further down in the article on back links. For now, I just hope you will trust me from real life experience and the battle scars I have (lol). Selecting Your Domain Name If you are not aware of this, try and match your domain selection, to your keyword phrase that you’re attempting to rank for or within the general niche. In less competitive markets, you can rank more quickly on G if you have an exact domain name for your long tail keyword. It also lets the search engines know what your website is about and adds a little more SEO optimization tactic for you. You certainly don’t have too, but it can help for low competitive terms from my experience. Getting Back Links – Why it Matters Back Links Defined When links point from another website and say, back to your site, that would be considered a back link. Think of it like a game of hockey or basketball. The person with the most points, wins the game – right? Well, it kinda of works that way for building links back to your site. However, one important aspect to keep in mind is that the higher the quality of links pointing back, the better results you will have in ranking. I won’t solely go for only quality links from high authority sites, because I believe that really doesn’t look natural to the search engines. On a normal basis, you will have good, OK and poor quality links pointing back to your site. Sometimes, a couple of high quality back links is all that you will require to get page 1. Other times and generally speaking, you will needs dozens, hundreds, and thousands of back-links to rank on page 1. You should also look at your internal links and how they are constructed within your website. A properly structured site will give you that little bit of extra SEO juice that could mean the difference between page 1 and page 2. Basically, what this means is, how many of your internal links are pointing to other pages of your site. I like to mix it up abit and have a few pointing back to the home page. The Process of Getting Back-links As complex as some so called SEO guru’s make it out to be, getting inbound links and ranking your website is basically writing unique content, and posting it to various places. Rinse and repeat the method as much as is necessary to rank on page 1. Remember, that 80 percent of your textual links needs to be pointing back to inner web pages in your website. Also, don’t use the same contextual link. The more one way relevant one way links you obtain pointing back, the higher in the SERP’s you’ll go. Start submitting your unique information to places like Ezine Articles and GoArticles. Those are literally hundreds and thousands of other article directories that you can post too. Following that, I will do some commenting at forums and other Blogs. But always add value when making comments and don’t spam them. I also look for what’s called, “ dofollow ” websites. That means, when Google comes across the link with their spiders, they will follow the link. If its a “ nofollow “, it can still be of value, provided you add something meaningful to the conversation. So how much time should you spend getting back links? When it comes to ranking on page 1, you should look at about 80 to 90 percent of your time getting back links. Yup, it sounds like a lot and it is. But, if you want to make the money, you need to be in front of the traffic. The search engines keep score by how many quality back links you have. Oh sure there are other factors, like how many people are clicking on your link, but more importantly how long are they staying on your site. Article Marketing – How To Get More with Less If you want to earn more cash on-line from organic searches, then you have to to be on page 1. You can do it either manually, by re-writing every single article. But, that takes a tremendous amount of time and effort. If you want to rank your keywords and generate income, then you need to look for software tools that can assist you in your back linking efforts. Now, let me be clear on how you should use an article rewriter or what term article spinners . Use it in a responsible manner to make other good quality and unique content. There’s enough junk content online already and you don’t need to add more garbage. The 2 most essential elements to making this all work, is good keyword research with a concentration on niche markets and getting one way links. The other components of selecting a good domain title is important, but without focusing on the above two components, the rest is meaningless in my opinion. Take advantage and leverage your time more effectively by searching out for tools and technology that can assist you getting more out of your day. Creating No-Follow links, Target Blank Links, Hypertext links in Blogger, Wordpress In today's post, I'm going to talk about what are nofollow tags, how and where to use them on your page content with other some hyperlink properties. What is nofollow? Nofollow is an HTML attribute that we use as a part of hyperlink to instruct Google not to distribute any page rank value to the linking website whether its website own page or any page on other domains. So we can use this rel=nofollow tag with our links where we don't want to pass Google page rank to other websites. There can be many situations when we would not love to pass page rank to other websites. Reasons why we should use nofollow tags Suppose we are promoting some affiliate link on our website or blog, there is no point in passing a page rank to it And if we are selling some test or banner links on our websites, should keep them nofollow. Because if we pass page rank to the advertiser's website, we are taking risk of getting some form of penalty from Google (that may came in the form of low page rank or no page rank at all) There is no point in sending page rank juice to your website pages like About US, Contact Us, Disclaimer, Privacy Policy etc. So keep all of these links as nofollow. When we are writing content on our website and link to external websites within our content, so its upto you to decide whether you want so send some page rank juice to these websites or not. Adding No-follow tag to a Link Generally we use the following link format: Make Money Online And in this case we are passing the page rank to ScopeForMoney.com website and this link will look like on our webpage as: Make Money Online There are many things we can use with our hyperlinks like using Seo optimized anchor texts as I used in the example above and included the keyword make money online for which I actually want to get high rankings in search engines. So we can repeat the same thing with other websites. If we use keyword based anchor texts in our hyperlinks, we will be helping other websites to rank well for those keywords. Here are some other standard hyperlink examples where I actually linked to my websites internal pages with the keywords I want to get top rankings in search engines: Blog Tips Seo Tips Directory Submission Services Now let's see a working example of website called SponsoredReviews with which I have been working as an affiliate and sending new Advertisers and Publishers to their network and will be able to make some money depending upon the activities my referrals will do on this paid blogging network. So to link to this network, I will be adding the nofollow tag to my link as: Sponsored Reviews So in this case, I will be sending them the traffic, but will not be passing any page rank or search engine value to Sponsored Reviews keyword. So this is how we add nofollow tag to a link. Just add rel="nofollow" to a link where you don't want to send some page rank and search engine rankings value. How to find a link is no-follow or not There is a Firefox plugin available called Search Status which helps you find out whether a link in nofollow or not. A nofollow link using this ad-on from firefox will look like: Sponsored Reviews And in case you are not using this plugin, your link will look very normal i.e. Sponsored Reviews How to add target blank to a link We add target="_blank" to a link where we don't want to open the linking page in the same window. When we specify target blank to a link, linking website will open in new tab. And in case we don't specify target blank value to a link, lining page will open in the same window. So you can think of using target blank value when linking to external websites or some affiliates. Click Publish Post button to see nofollow tag in action in your blogger post. In the same fashion, you can add nofollow tag to Wordpress blogs as well.
